Sacred Heart School of Theology offers a unique English as a
Second Language Program as a service to priests, seminarians, brothers,
sisters, missionaries, and lay ministers who wish to acquire language
proficiency for Roman Catholic ministry in an English-speaking
environment.
The ESL program emphasizes:
- Appropriate grammar usage
- Accent reduction
- Effective writing and reading skills
- Accurate pronunciation in daily conversations, preaching, liturgical presiding, and counseling situations
- Strong listening and speaking skills
- Multicultural awareness and assimilation
- Preparation for TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
The ESL program offers:
- Small personal classes designed for the mature learner
- Individualized attention for each student
- Opportunities to interact with students and the community

Sacred Heart School of Theology is accredited by two agencies:
- The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS)
- The Higher Learning Commission: A Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
