The EagleThe Eagle
By Oscar Martinez
(Colombia)
Diocese of Salt Lake City, Utah

My favorite animal is the eagle because for me it is a symbol of freedom. The eagle has perfect vision. This animal finds its food very easily and catches it with precision. When the eagle flies, it is a beautiful sight. I cannot have an eagle in my house because I think that this bird will lose its essential form of life without its freedom.

I like this bird because when I watch eagles, I appreciate the value of freedom. I feel peace in my heart, in my spirit, and in my body.

My hometown has a lot of eagles, and everyday they fly to the high mountains searching for a place to rest where they can pass the night.
