It is Better for Children to Grow Up in the Countryside Rather Than in a Big City
By: Denny Wahyudi
(Indonesia)

picture of country homeChildren who live in the countryside will enjoy it. They will grow healthier physically and mentally with the fresh air, the beautiful scenery, and the kindness of the countryside people. Children living in the country will learn more about the animals, plants, mountains, lakes, and seas of the country. They will be more aware of nature, so it is good for their education. They will learn and experience how nature changes season by season. The environment of the countryside will also make them feel safe, because there is very little pollution compared to what is in a big city.

Even though the countryside is better for children to grow up in, there are also some shortcomings. Children may not have the same cultural opportunities in the country that they would find in the city. They may not experience the modernization found in a big city. They will not have the challenge of living in a big city.

Even though, there might be some problems, children can make an adjustment quickly when they do get the opportunity to live in a big city. Their experiences in the countryside will make them richer than children who live in a big city because they will know and understand both worlds.

Therefore, there are some advantages if children live in the countryside compared to a big city. Experiencing nature with their minds and hearts will be useful for their education physically and mentally. Even though there may be some disadvantages, these children will grow up better in the countryside than in a big city full of risks.
