Hormigas Culonas: A Poem
(Ants with big bottoms!)

By: Juan Manuel Camacho
(Colombia)

picture of hormigas culonas

They are ugly insects, but they are delicious.

They can be found in the state of Santander in Colombia.

They live a year to die one day when the sun is bright.

They grow in the ground; they are special, because they come out of their hiding place just in May,

When the winter starts in Colombia, they come up because the sun is intense then,

They live just for that day. Their life is so short. They have a big bottom that is the must delicious part of their bodies, and they are very, very tasty! I love Hormigas Culonas!!!
