A Trip to Mayfair Mall

It was time for the next fieldtrip in the ESL Program. Everybody was
happy because we were going to the mall. We thought this was a good idea
since many of us had never been to a mall before in the United States.
For this trip, the teachers gave us a scavenger hunt. We had to search
for the answers to each question at Mayfair Mall. But this was not an
individual effort, it was a team effort. So the teachers made three teams.
The first team was Fr. Sojan, Fr. Andrew and Jose. The second team was
Octavio and Jesus. And the last team was Fr. Thobiyas and Mario. Our classmate
Oscar was sick, so he could not come with us.
This was the first time that I was going to the mall, so I was very excited. We all went to the car after we got our lunches from the cafeteria.
Andrea, one of our teachers, drove Fr. Paul’s car. In her car were Jose, Mario, Jesus, and Thobiyas. The other classmates went in Ruth’s car. After a 15 minute drive, we arrived at the mall. We went into the mall and Ruth gave us the final instructions about the scavenger hunt. Then we ran and searched for the answers. We had about an hour for the scavenger hunt.
At the beginning of our search, my team first went to the information desk and asked for a map of the place. The other teams preferred to walk and look through the mall without the help of a map. After everybody finished, Fr. Andrew wanted to get his bag that was in the car. So Ruth and he went outside to the parking lot. After that, we ate lunch. And after that, we all went to watch different movies. Mario, Fr. Sojan, Fr. Thobiyas, and I watched “The Tuxedo”. Andrea, Ruth, and Octavio watched “Tuck Everlasting”. Jesus watched “Red Dragon”.
Finally, we came back to SHST, but not everybody returned at the same time. Fathers Sojan and Thobiyas went to an Indian grocery store after the mall.
It was a long day, and I was very tired in the evening. But, I really
enjoyed my first time at the mall in the USA.
