Pozole: A Poem
By: Octavio Trejo Flores
(Mexico)

Pozole is one of my favorite foods.

Pozole is a very popular Mexican entrée in my country.

The ingredients are precooked corn, pork or chicken, and some spices.

My mom cooks green Pozole, white, and red.

When I eat Pozole,I enjoy it very much because it is tasty.

I add avocado slices, chopped cabbage, and radishes into Pozole.

And if I like, some lemon.

Now that I live in Milwaukee, I cannot eat Pozole because it is difficult to find here.

But, when I go back home, I will eat real Pozole, the one that my mom cooks.
