The ESL Times / Summer, 2003 A Day at Six Flags
Our wonderful teacher Ruth took some of the students to have a “far-out” experience. We arrived at 10am. The joy that we had in our hearts was a prophecy of the rest of the day. The journey began with water rides and fun it was - just too much for our clothes. So after getting wet twice we left for lunch. The lunch was an astonishing picnic in the park; we ate and drank a lot; well, not too much, but just enough. Then we had a “laugh out loud” moment, where everyone told a joke. Then we re-entered the park to handle an up and down afternoon, because some of us already had had enough adventure for a day, so not all of us went on the rollercoaster, but the bravest continued the expedition. We left sadly, but with our hearts full of delight, for we had had a taste of adrenaline that will never leave our memories!
