My Experience Learning English
By: Jan Szylar CM
(Poland)

I’m learning English every day,
I’m learning English by radio and television,
Sometimes I understand,
Sometimes I don’t understand!
I have to speak English, but my mouth is closed,
I have to speak English, but I don’t hear,
Everything is blind and deaf – mute for me.
People who I meet are happy and they keep smiling,
For them, learning English is easy, fun.
So, I see and dream about English at night when the stars are in the sky,
I ask about my future to my friend who speaks English.
What, must I do to learn? I ask myself again and again.
I want to speak well.

Not dreaming, I still don’t speak, and I don’t understand.
But now I have written English.
And anyone who complains about my first English poem,
He can just go home and get lost!!!
