My Life in Tecario
By:  Camilo Garcia Delgado
(Mexico)

I am from Mexico, my state is Michoacan de Ocampo, and it is west of Mexico City.

Morelia is the capital of Michoacan; it was founded in 1542. .Tacambaro de Codallos is my hometown. It is west of Morelia. Its name means “Place of the Palms”. After Tacambaro was founded in 1538, it was an Indian Republic. Friar Juan Moya began to evangelize there during the 16th century.

Tacambaro today has many interesting things related to its culture, and it has a lot of agriculture, especially delicious and tasty avocados.

My village, Tecario, is very small. I was born there. All my family is farmers, so I grew up in the fields, and I feel that I am a good farmer.

When I was in Mexico, I worked with my family, and we planted many kinds of vegetables like avocados, chilies, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, potatoes, and beans.

The weather is very nice in Mexico. The people are very friendly too. We have our own traditional music, food, and clothes. I like my hometown so much. You are invited to visit Tacambaro. You will love it, and I hope that I will see you there in my city too someday.
